Greenlens is free to use, shows you other people's published opinions about cosmetics, and is not a doctor. The long version is below. By using the Greenlens web app or browser extension you agree to these terms.

What Greenlens is

Greenlens aggregates publicly available cosmetics ratings from independent sources, shows where those sources disagree, and computes a composite score using weights you control. The ratings belong to their sources; Greenlens reports them, including their disagreements, and never invents or hides one.

Not medical or professional advice

Everything Greenlens shows is informational. Scores, verdicts, ingredient flags, and Sonion's commentary are summaries of third-party opinions, not medical, dermatological, or safety advice. If you have allergies, sensitivities, a skin condition, or are pregnant or nursing, talk to a qualified professional before acting on anything you read here. Do not stop or start using a product solely because of a Greenlens score.

No warranty on ratings data

Ratings come from external sources (for example Open Beauty Facts) and are matched to products by software. We work to keep matches accurate and we show each match's confidence, but we cannot guarantee that any rating, ingredient list, or product match is complete, current, or correct. The service is provided “as is”, without warranties of any kind.

Affiliate links

As an Amazon Associate, Greenlens earns from qualifying purchases. Some product pages link to Amazon with an affiliate tag; if you buy through one, Greenlens may receive a commission at no extra cost to you. Affiliate income never changes a score, a ranking, or which alternatives we suggest. Alternatives are ranked by safety, never by payout.

Billing and subscriptions

Greenlens Pro is in a free beta. Starting the beta puts a card on file through Stripe, but nothing is charged during the trial, and we will email you before any charge ever starts. You can cancel anytime from the billing portal on your account page. Because the beta is free, refunds do not apply. Stripe processes all payments; we never see or store your card number.

Acceptable use

The web app and its API endpoints exist to serve people looking up products. Don't abuse them: no scraping at volume, no automated traffic designed to overload the service, no attempts to bypass rate limits, and no use of the data to misrepresent what a rating source said. We may block traffic that ignores this.

The browser extension

The extension reads publicly visible product information on retailer pages you visit and shows ratings for it. It runs only on sites you have allowed. Retailer sites belong to their operators; the extension does not modify your purchases or interfere with checkout.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Greenlens and its operator are not liable for any damages arising from your use of the service, including decisions made based on ratings shown, product purchases, or service interruptions.

Changes

We may update these terms as the product evolves. The date above reflects the latest revision; continued use after a change means you accept it.
